Not because I'm not open to learning what he has to say...mainly because in the free time I do have, I'd prefer to blog/read blogs -- it's my preferred hobby.<br /><br />Anyway, in nursing school, I was taught only to use the sides of fingertips -- but I've never tried the backs (though I have poked low on the sides at times without any issues.)
